PATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH
Dads can absolutely experience increased depression and anxiety both during their partner’s pregnancy and after the baby is born. The heightened stress of this life transition impacts men as well as women. In fact, if a partner experiences depression or anxiety, dads are 50% more likely to experience it too. We don’t live in isolation — our relationships deeply affect us.

Research shows that 10–20% of men experience depression and anxiety during the pregnancy and postpartum period. It can also be traumatic and overwhelming for dads to witness childbirth, sometimes leading to feelings of fear, loss of control, dissociation, or “checking out.” These experiences are valid and deserve support in a safe, therapeutic space.

Dads are welcome to meet with us individually or, if preferred, alongside their partner.
